We’ve definitely highlighted a few of the vegetables that are growing in Cascadia’s Cornucopia, but did you know that we have fruit making appearances, as well? Today, we are going to visit with Adrian who is excited to talk with you about the Cornelian Cherry (not really a cherry), which has roots stemming from the Ukraine (yes, really). As a native of Eastern Europe, Adrian is familiar with the sweet and bright cousin to the Dogwood. Watch the video below to learn more, and then pluck a few not-cherries for a quick snack! Green Tip: The best time to harvest is when the cherries are dark red.
PS… does anyone know where we can pick up a bottle of Cornelian Cherry juice to make some compote?!
