Sometimes our encouragement for students to participate in community-based learning reaps amazing results. Assignments in the learning community (“Making It Real,” English 101 + HUM 150) of David Ortiz and myself prompted Chiwon Lee to apply for the programs below.
She has been chosen by Stanford University’s ASES, a college-student organization whose “mission is to educate and network the future leaders in entrepreneurship, business, and the Asia-Pacific in order to foster a global entrepreneurship society.” She is one of 45 international students chosen from top universities. At the April 4-10th conference at Stanford, she will promote her non-profit organization that helps teenagers, especially girls, obtain knowledge in business and IT technology.”
She has also applied and been been selected for Cascadia Student Government as the Director of Public Relations and Technology.
